This looks very interesting, especially if it uses automotive oem bt
connections....

I spent some time on their site tonight. It looks like the SDK requires
their hardware. Not that this is necessarily a "bad" thing. The hardware
looks real cool and seems to provide a standardized interface for any car
with an OBD-II connector.

I remember the "good ole days" of being a shade tree mechanic and buying a
code scanner for 39.99 to write down the pattern the LED flashed in (after
resting the car with a paper clip) and then comparing it to a reference
chart for trouble shooting. I'm sure somebody could have some fun with this
software.
