Running VISTA Home Premium and VS 2005 Std.

I have installed WM6 Standard SDK then later WM6 Professional SDK.
Under Standard SDK, before the Professional SDK was installed. the Cellular
Emulator ran as advertised.
After installation of the Pro SDK, when I start the Cellular Emulator I get
the following message:
There are not seven pairs of XPVCOM in system

Can anyone point me to a solution please.

Do you have any Bluetooth virtual com ports setup on the PC? If so remove
them, restart your machine and try cellular emulator again. You may then be
able to setup the Bluetooth ports after and Cellular Emulator will still
run.

This should work:-

Open a command prompt (as Administrator if you are on Vista)
Execute the following to remove and re-add XPVCom

CD \Program Files\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\Tools\Cellular Emulator\

InstallXPVCom.exe UnInstall

InstallXPVCom.exe Install

Performing the Uninstall/Install action did not work and still getting the
error.

No previous installation of WM 6.0 Standard SDK, simple install of WM 6.0
Pro SDK on top of Visual Studio 2008 Pro.

I do not have any Bluetooth Com ports listed in the  "Bluetooth Devices"
control pannel applet under "COM Ports".

Running on Vista Ultimate x64. Any Ideas?

SOLUTION FOR XP SP2 & VISTA_32

Do the following in order:

Remove ALL COM PORT USING PROGRAMS and HARDWARE DEVICES such as
bluetooth.
Remove ALL the SDK's on your computer.
RESTART (Dont allow you computer to detect hardware while restarting)
After restart INSTALL "Windows Mobile 6 Professional SDK Refresh" NOT
"Windows Mobile 6 Professional SDK"

Ok, same problem as I have, Removed Windows Mobile 6 Sdk, restarted and
installed the suggested refresh. Uninstall/install did not work either.

Any ideas left? (Running on Vista X64 is the problem?)

I am getting the same problem. Maybe it does not like Vista 64. I
though everyone at Microsoft was developing on Vista 64. I guess the
device emulator team is still running 32-bit.
