Hi,

I am trying to develop for the Smartphone 2003 platform on VS2003
hosted on XP Pro x64. My target device is an Orange SPV E650 (HTC
S710) which has been application unlocked by Orange I have installed
the following sdks :

Microsoft SMARTPHONE 2003 SDK.msi
Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 SDK.msi

My problems are that when I try to run the default "hello world"
Smartphone application on the Smartphone 2003 emulators (both the
"virtual radio" and "radio required" versions I get the following
error box :

"One or more files from the Emulator for Windows CE installation is
missing"

I followed the advice in KB article 891667 and modified my boot.ini
file accordingly so it now reads :

[boot loader]
;timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional
x64 Edition" /execute /fastdetect

but this did not fix the problem.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks,

Mike

Is it C/C++ helloworld on C#?

I think it must be C/C++.  For C/C++ development, you need either eVC 4.0
(with service packs) or VS 2005.

No,  it is the C# default "Hello World" application with Smartphone
selected as the Smartdevice target application under VS2003.

Thanks,

Mike
