Hello Experts,
I am looking for a message format (specification) for Mobile Originated SMS
and Mobile Terminated SMS. I tried searching every possible place (including
google), but could not find any useful information. Since MS has developers
who actually write code for mobile devices, I thought it is the right place
to get technical information. Please explain to me or point me to some
documentation that can help me understand SMS message format.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brown.

It's 3GPP specification.  Can check here:
http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/html-info/23040.htm (looks like the right
place - you'll need to register to get it and check it out).

Thanks Mike,
The link was very helpful....appreciate your response.
I will read the document and try to understand it, but thought if you don't
mind I will pose a question to you....may be it would be very easy for you
and may not take more than couple minutes of your time.
Q: I see that SMS specification for Mobile Originated SMS doesn't have
Sender address field and Mobile Terminated SMS doesn't have Destination
address field. Then how come receiver know who sent the SMS? Does SMS-C edit
SMS packet and put appropriate address in it?

Thanks,
Brown.
