I am beginner for windows mobile 6.
I listened the video tutorials posted at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsmobile/bb264341.aspx.
By referring to “Using AppVerifier to debug Windows Mobile Applications”
video tutorial by Marty Larson, when I tried to use application verifier for
windows mobile 5.0 it didn’t work , when I click on connect button under
“Click connection to use platform manager to automatically download and start
the client side program” section of Device connect window , it gives error
“unable to launch device EXE””.
Please help me to use application verifier on windows mobile 6 .
I my current setup contains following,
Windows Mobile 6 Professional SDK
Windows Mobile 6 Standard SDK
Application Verifier For Windows Mobile 5.0
.net compact frame work 2.0
Microsoft Visual studio 2005
Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Test Kit

Hi,
In the video tutorial, Marty Larson uses a Device Emulator image and
connects to it using ActiveSync. What does your set up look like? Are you
also using the emulator? If so, is your ActiveSync enabled for DMA
connections? If you are using a real device, can it successfully connect
over ActiveSync via USB?
Thanks!

Hello,
I also received the same error msg when attempting to connect thru
Application Verifier. You may want to try going thru the CE Test Kit. Here's
an article that may help: "Step by Step: Monitoring Resource Leaks Using the
Application Verifier Tool for Windows Mobile 5.0"
However, I've experienced a problem connecting because I think I'm not using
Visual Studio. Instead, I'm using WM 5.0 MSFP Emulator in an attempt to
connect to CETK. I've tested the connection of the CETK to Emulator under the
Device Properties when configuring the Platform Manager and everything
appears to be ok at that point. However, when I set to connect by clicking on
the Connection button under the Device Properties, the Emulator is not listed
under the Kit Server.
I'm using the following tools:
- WM 5.0 MSFP Emulator Images: Pocket PC Emulator, Emulator Device Mgr. to
Cradle
- WM Device Center (ActiveSync for Vista - Home Premium)
- Windows CE 5.0 Test Kit
- Application Verifier for WM 5.0
- Vista Home Premium
any help is appreciated

Unfortunately, this forum is for questions regarding the version of
Application Verifier that ships with Visual Studio.
For more information, see:
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1532599&SiteID=1.
If you have a question about the standalone Application Verifier tool that
does not ship with Visual Studio,
you should head over to microsoft.public.win32.programmer.tools newsgroup.
This forum is for questions only about the Application Verifier feature that
ships with Visual Studio Team Developer and Visual Studio Team Suite.

Hello ,
Thanks for the information .. i could resolve the error, the error
was coming due to incompatible versions of application verifier 5.0 and
windows CE 6.0.
i have installed Windows CE 5.0 and .net frame work 1.1, it works fine with
windows mobile 6.
windows mobile 6 needs Windows ce 5.0 and application verifier 5.0 and .net
frame work 1.1 and .net frame work 2.0. both the .net frame works can
co-exist.
