I think that a search with GoogleGroups on microsoft.public.windowsce.*
should find one or more old messages from me that describe what happens when
you choose Disable in the Network and Dial-up Connections applet. It
involves setting a registry entry and unbinding the adapter from TCP/IP...

Yes, of course disabled adapters are not loaded, so you can't enumerate the
loaded adapters and expect to find them.
