Bad Network Path

Hi,
when trying to access a computer on my LAN using "\\<IP address>" I am
getting the following error:
"Bad Network Path. Check to see if the path you typed is correct and
that your dial-up connection is active or your network card is
properly inserted."

Funny thing is that if I access the same computer using its name (\
\<name>) I can access it.

I have included in my image SYSGEN_REDIR through the Catalog.

I am using Windows CE 6.0 R3.

Pinging the IP address works.

What could be the problem?

Thanks,
Shai

Yes, that's the way it works.  \\<IP> does not work in Windows CE.

Thanks!
Do you happen to have a pointer to an MSDN article saying this?
Though, I believe you :)

No.  I don't think that the fact is documented anywhere.  That's the way it
is, though.  I've read the code and you can see it always using NetBIOS name
resolution on the server name.
