I've just downloaded ActiveSync 4 and I expected to find the possibility to program ActiveSync with .NET and C#. Why Microsoft doesn't use .NET technology but is still using COM ? Do I have to believe that Microsoft developers doesn't believe in .NET ?

For remote ActiveSync to work, what kind of server address is required? does it have to be a POP or IMAP server? Would I use my OWA or OMA URL address? I know that for ActiveSync to work internally, an FQDN should work fine but I have remote users that want to use this feature.
