I have a problem installing Activesync 4.x on my PC (Windows XP Pro
SP2 with all the latest updates installed).
When the installation starts, it goes through the initial phase
configuring the installer, but then it just pops up a dialog box

Here is what I have done to try to resolve this issue. Any feedback would be
appreciated.
Environment:
Windows XP with SP 2 and all patches / updates

New Dell laptop & Handheld PC, setup A/S 4.1 and all syncs ok except the
"Files" folder. Says it cannot sync a certain file, to check the available
memory on the handheld. But when I look in the folder, there are no files
there at all, hidden or otherwise. I dont recall the file ...

I installed ActiveSync 4.1 on a Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition.

Is there a way to silence ActiveSync? I use ActiveSyncToggle, which. like a
few other utilities and scripts around, stops activesync (wcescomm.exe and
wcesmgr.exe)and removes the startup item from the HKCU registry key until

Hello all, this is a summary of our investigation into some setup problems
