A few days ago my laptop crashed hard. I lost my entire Outlook email file
(both current and archive). I already got an earfull from my wife about
backing up so let's not go there.
My question is this. My PDA was synchronized with my laptop and the PDA

I am having an issue with connecting to a PC via ActiveSync 4.1 and
downloading files from the PC's FTP site.  If it was possible to simply
use ActiveSync's sync ability, I would, but this is for a client and
using FTP file transfers is the way it has to be.

Does anyone know when Verizon will be rady with the Microsoft Messaging
and Security Feature Pack?

After the initial set up I cant get the categories and contacts to sync.
If a contact is updated on my PDA it doesnt update on the desktop.
I also have alot of duplicate categories. I have updated the master list in
the desktop, but its not updating the PDA.

ActiveSync 4.1 is on my "VPA comp II" (WM5) continuous on. If I end
ActivSync, a little time later I see it again on my task list.
My problem: if I use the phone together with ActivSync I have a feedback

I want to have ActiveSync synchronize my Local contacts in Outlook not the
Contacts in my Exchange Server 2003 Contacts to my PocketPC device.  I've
tried everything but it only seems to look at the Server Contacts.
Any Ideas?

Hi in hope this will help someone else. After after much trial and error,
searching on the web, asking questions here and everywhere... we've gotten a
Verizon 6700 to sync with USB AND wirelessly.
1. Unit would not show up in USB connection for ActiveSync. Tried 3.8, 4.0,

I've upgraded from a HP Jornada to an IPAQ 2490 and therefore to ActiveSync
4.1. Suddenly I can't sync via bluetooth anymore. I didn't change the
configuration of the laptop, so bluetooth com port is still COM5 and
ActiveSync is still listening on COM5.

My boss is using a Samsung i730, whenever he deletes an e-mail on the phone,
it can't sync with the exchange server. It spits out the sync_5 message.
However, someone else has a brand new pocket PC and it works beautifully...
Any one know how I could get the Samsung to work right?

I reinstalled Office 2003 prof edition.
I tried sync and received the message:
"Cannot synchronize with the Outlook profile you are using, because a
different profile was previously set up or the profile is password protected.

I use ActiveSync 3.8 on two machines (2000 and XP).  My PPC is a CE 2003 SE.  
I keep getting duplicate "Notes" as I sync between the two machines.  I've
deleted "Notes" entirely off all three machines and reinstalled on one of the
PCs and resync'd, but I still seem to end up with ...

Today I went to sync and here we go again. Dell Axim X30 with AS 3.8.
All was fine and now not. Put device in cradle or plug in sync cable
-same result: the connect sound is heard and then a few seconds later

I have two Axim x51v (Windows Mobile 5) devices.
On one computer I can sync one device no problem
On the other when I try to sync, I get the following error:
"Synchronization could not be completed. Try again later."

Just got an Audiovox XV6700 from Verizon (Pocket PC, WM5).  It comes
with Activesync installed and I installed Activesync 4.1 on my work PC
(laptop).
With Outlook 2000, Activesync seems to bomb Outlook 2000 at initial

I learned that I shouldn't have upgraded to 4.1.  I've tried Raj's tips to
delete the two dll files, but I'm still having trouble.  (See related note:
