I am experiancing very severe slowdown of desktop Outlook (2003) whenever a device (WM5) is connected (ActiveSync 4.2) . What can be the cause ? Can anyone help ?

I have two addins in Outlook 2000 (and Windows 2000), one made in VB6 and another in .NET 1.1. These addins have been working fine with the ActiveSync 3.x versions. The problem started when the users bought new phones that required ActiveSync 4.x.

I'm using ActiveSync 4.2, Outlook 2003 and my PDA runs WM 2005. Up until the 8/8 the sync worked just fine. Today I realized that the sync has not happend after the 8/8. I did the following: 1. Uninstall and Install Active Sync

I regularly get an error with ActiveSync which tells me I will lose all data since my last sync. it then proceeds to to a complete-resync. I have now realised that the problem only occurs if I start mt PC with the USB connection to my mobile already in place - then it happens ...

I have ActiveSync 4.2 with my X30 which is setup to sync whilst in my user account on my XP Pro machine. But if the PDA is in its dock and my wife logs onto her account it constantly tries to sync/set up and account.

I dug out my old Jornada 540 to use as a 2nd PDA. What I would like to do is copy Outlook (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks) to the PDA each time I connect without synchronizing. I don't want to accidently copy an entry from the PDA to my PC. I can't figure out how to set this up.

Looking at this forum and other sites lots of people appear to have the same problem as me but I can't find the solution. I'm running SBS 2003 with SP2, Activesync 4.1 and an Orange SPV M5000 running Win Mobile 5.
