The issue I am about to describe has been a perenial problem for many users
for years.  I was sincerely (read: naively) hoping that Microsoft would have
listened and resolved this in ActiveSync 4.5 - alas NO!
I have setup partnerships with both my work and home PC and synced (sp?) ...

While trying to discover my my Samsung i730 is not seen by WMDC I notiiced
'Failed to start the Windows Mobile legacy device connectivity service due to
Rapimgr(0x80070005) failure (see data for failure code).' in my event log.
Can someone tell me what the error means?

I'm running a WinXP SP2 computer with a Bluetooth controller and MS
Bluetooth stack.
I connected a smartphone to it using Bluetooth and a serial replacement
profile (ActiveSync).

Using Vista Ultimate 64 bit with WMDC and a WM5 Smartphone.  When I connect
the device to my laptop via the USB cable, Windows Media Player 'sees' it.
When I connect via Bluetooth, WMDC connects fine, but Windows Media Player
doesn't see it at all.  Is there a way to configure ...

I have a Treo 750 and everytime I sync my contacts duplicate,
sometimes even triplicate.
I use active sync and am on a Apple G5 and use Entourage with windows
exchange 2003 server.

I found that my PPC jumped ahead by an hour if it is connected to the
PC.  I upgraded my work PC and my PPC (HP 2755 with an HP patch).  I
think the jump ahead at work is now OK.  If I attach it to my home PC,
it still jumps ahead.  I downloaded the latest Microsoft patches here

When I open activesync Options I no longer have squares next to Notes, Task,
Contact & appointment?
What gives.....

With all the issues around WMDC, I figured I would try to put my 2
cents to solve some of the issues some people may be seeing, so here
goes, feel free to post about other items that may work, or those that
I have suggested that do not work:

When I reboot my device(My device had connected to PC via USB cable), in the
boot process, sometimes a dialog with "ActiveSync cannot connect to the
Windows Mobile powered device. To troubleshoot the problem, click OK."

got a new machine with vista business and when I go to install activesync
4.5 it tells me that it cant be installed in vista.
Is there a microsoft solution for this?

I have a Moto Q phone, running Windows Mobile v5.  MS Active Sync 4.5.
Is there any way for it to sync some excel files?  Right now it just syncs
with Outlook.

Using Vista/WMDC -- everything is syncing correctly except Mobile Favorites;
those aren't syncing at all.  No sync errors, the option to sync them is
