WM5 Start->Programs31 Mar 2007 22:20 GMT12
On my ppc 2003 I re-arranged the shortcuts in the Programs directory
(off the Start menu) into folders. If I try the same on my WM5 ppc I
can only see some of the shortcuts when I look via File Explorer.
Presumably the other entries are automatically put on Start->Programs.
Contacts -- Organizing by name31 Mar 2007 19:39 GMT2
When I put new contacts in to the phone it organizes them Last, First.
I then have to sync, go into outlook and select it to be ordered by
First name First. Is there a way to make this the default on the phone
itself?

Can someone write a program to time out network access (phone radio)?31 Mar 2007 14:48 GMT1
I'm running WM5.0 on a XV6700. Seems like there's no way to time out the
Verizon phone network connection (EVDO) like there is for wifi. I want to
save batteries and network access time - if no program is using thei nternet
for 5 minutes, my phone should hang up the network! My old ...
Windows Mobile 6 and older DLL's.31 Mar 2007 12:30 GMT2
About a month or so ago, when WM6 was released prematurely, I read a message
on one of the many newsgroups that I visit that had a link to an article
about WM6 and its non-compatibility with older DLL's written in eVC++
3.0/4.0. The article mentioned a plug-in (available from ...
Locking down a PPC31 Mar 2007 04:13 GMT3
Is there a means whereby I can restrict the applications that can be run
on a PPC?  I am deploying an application where quite a range of users
can use the device for data entry.  We do not want said casual users
being able to much around with the configuration of the system or to ...

Deepfish Browser30 Mar 2007 20:56 GMT10
Okay, so this mobile browser offering from Microsoft looks promising...
in beta now. (Could've sworn this browser zoom capability was shown in
an early WM5 glimpse, but I digress...)

I have since changed companies and use my pocket pc for work-related
