How I can create background program(service) using .NET Compact Framework?

I've got Visual Studio 2003 60 day trial, it's crap.
I've got basic4ppc, nice but limited.
Can anyone on here tell me what I need to create programs for my PPC on the
unit, or using my XP laptop.

can any one help me in this.
seems windows ce remote spy 5.0 does not work for windows mobile 5.0 devices.
it can't spy on messages and only gives 3 to 4 messages then it will stop
getting messages from the controls.

I have TCP server and client talking to each other using loopback address. I
use 127.0.1.x as loop-back address. It works without any problem on PPC 2003
devices and WM50 emulator. But on WM50 device (HP iPAQ) connect() from
client fails with error 10061.
