Is there any API I can use to reliably determine which carrier the platform I'm running on is subscribed to? For instance, can I call any API and find out that the user is a T-Mobile or Cingular customer? And would that be a privledged API?

I am trying to build a mpeg4 video codec plugin for windows media player 10 (Mobile Edition). Is it at all possible? If it is not possible for WMP 10 (Mobile Ed.), can the same be developed in WMP 11 (Mobile Ed.)?

This post is regarding Managed Windows Mobile 5 development. When running in debug mode the WM5 can be deployed to, the emulator launches and after about a minute or two the debug build of the managed .exe is installed and launched on the emulator.
