I have a very large excel spreadsheet, that I would like to put into an SQL

I would like to test the computer my application is running on to see if the
operating system is Vista.  If so, I will perform a certain task one way and
if on XP another way.
How can I test for Vista within my application?

I hope this is the VB6 discussion group.  The drop down list does not contain
any entry for VB6.  I wonder if this means Microsoft has killed VB6?  Groan.
The only way I know to search a directory and subs to list files matching a
specified pattern is to shell to DOS with command ...
